The Wrath of the Airport

I should have been in New York City basking in the glory of Thai food with my best friend 3 hours ago... but where am I you ask? Thanks to LGA and Delta I am back at home after the longest day ever! Here is what went down...

I arrived at the airport by 1:30 for my flight at 3:04pm. When I arrived to my oh so enjoyable terminal around 2pm I did not yet know how much of my day I would be spending there. When i first sat down, they delayed my flight to 3:50 so not bad right? Wrong. The lady at the counter announces that the flight from NY coming to Indy that would be taking us there had JUST taken off, and we would not board until 4:15. This girl sitting next to me gets the hiccups and proceeds to vomit all over herself yet no one seems to notice. WHAT? siiick... i turn around and she is dabbing it out of her hair with pages from a magazine... again WHAT? Who is this girl? is she drunk? probably. She is dressed all hippie nasty and doesn't even go to the restroom to clean up her own puke? What is wrong here? Of course I move away from her and sit on the ground to await my flight which gets delayed further to 5pm. 5PM I should be in NY at this time. But no, waiting on LGA to confirm that we can board and take off. 5:00 rolls around and my flight gets canceled. This is followed by me standing in a line for about another hour to get pushed to a friday 11am flight seeing how there is NOTHING taking off tonight. THANK YOU Delta and LGA for ruining my day, my weekend, and my summer trip. I am angry. I am upset. I am going to get something out of this!

So try number two: NEW YORK tomorrow 11am see you then!

Empire State of Mind

DESTINATION NEW YORK CITY!!

I am less than 5 hours away from landing in NEW YORK and seeing my favorite person in the world!! Goodbye midewest fields, hello skyscrapers and beautiful city! No more minivans please, just yellow cabs lining the streets! My bag is packed to the brim with clothes I probably won't even pull out of it, but better to be over prepared than under right? Perfect.

This weekend will change my life, it is time to map out where I'll be after I graduate in May. Makes me want to scream NEW YORK NEW YORK! See you in 4 days!

Remember Me

I went in to this movie expecting the typical chick flick drama that pretty much all movies fall into. True to form, this movie seemed to be heading in that direction, or so I thought. The end of the movie took such a surprising turn. Not only was I surprised and delighted at this change of events, but it even brought me to tears. I can’t believe it has not gotten more attention. Maybe because it has Robert ‘I’m so hot that I don’t need to be a good actor’ Pattinson as the main character, but even he played his part much better than he does a vampire. The main characters made me feel insignificant in the world for all of the trouble they went through. Do we need to have such tragedies in our lives to create such passion in love? Sure everyone has their own problems, but so many are so small when brought into the bigger picture. In the end, I will say that Remember Me will definitely be added into my list of favorite movies.

I also went and saw Inception the day it came out of course. This movie had all the promise in the world with two of my favorite actors, one of my favorite actresses, and my favorite director Christopher Nolan. After coming out of it, I believe it lived up to my expectations. The ending left me wondering about it for hours, and I want to see if again and again. I feel like it will be just the way Batman Begins was for me, where I will be able to find new things about it every time I watch it.

Closing Time

I just got done closing at work tonight and i have two things to say. One, why come into a restaurant and linger there late at night when you know it is closing and the servers want nothing more than to leave? Two, if you can't afford to tip your server at least 20% then don't be going out to eat. I love my work and everyone i work with, but some customers can be so disrespectful. If it takes a while for you food to come out, that is generally not your servers fault, but maybe the kitchen is running a little behind or something, so don't take it out on your server!

Anyways, only 41 more hours till i will be in NYC! Lets take a moment to pause and think about the many great things that lie ahead in just hours!
most importantly... number 1. Seeing BREANN!
2. catching up with Breann
3. experiencing Times Square and Manhattan
4. Getting wasted off of happy hour specials at Pete Wentz's lounge
5. Getting wild at bars/lounges with Fiji friends from PU
6. Central Park
7. The Met
8. flea markets
9. did i mention seeing Breann?
10. NY style pizza the BEST!
11. dressing up
12. stalking the residence of Gabe Saporta
13. cash cab?
14. this list is endless!!!!

Clearly we see my excitement... the only thing im not looking forward to? packing. I feel like when i pack for a trip, no matter what it's for, or how long it is, i will no doubt overpack, but forget to bring the one thing i will wish i had. This seems to happen to me ALL the time! This is why i am going to majorly plan ahead everything down to my shoes thanks to Bre's outfit itinerary!

Tomorrow I am going to workout, shower, get sunned, make dinner/hang with my brother, and let the packing begin! 41 hours and counting....

To Blog or Not to Blog

Although i can't imagine people stumbling upon my blog and wanting to read some strangers rants about life, hopefully that is exactly what happens here. In just 2 more days i will be painting the streets of New York City with my best friend Breann. I am sure to have plenty to write about when i return, but to start off my blog i will share a little about myself....

I am a creative writing student at Purdue University, making my victory lap and planning to graduate in May. My plan is to immediately escape the midwest and head off to New York in search of a job. Of course, i will be working on novels on the side in hopes of my true dreams coming true. Now back to reality, two more semesters of living the good life, enjoying the party scene, and sleeping my way through class. Ah the wonderful life of a college student, i can;t imagine anything better.

Because this is a blog and not actual writing, don't always be expecting correct punctuation and capital I's because lets face it, i am just too lazy for that. So don't go running away too soon!
