Growing up!

It's only taken 5 years, BUT I finally have a great class for my fiction writing! We have class every Tuesday night for 3 hours and I was sure it would be boring and terrible, but so far it has been quite rewarding!

Moving on to todays topic: GROWING UP. I've done nothing but dread the graduation of college for the past 5 years, but I'm beginning to see that growing up doesn't have to be so awful! Now that I have a resume done, finding a job doesn't seem that far away! I also found a job that would be simply amazing for me! It's this website where people go to up and coming bars, clubs, lounges, coffee shops, etc... in big cities in Europe as well as LA and NYC. The employees go to these places and write about the atmosphere, type of crowd, and general feel of each place. Finding a job like this where I can actually enjoy my life would be the best thing that could happen to me!

I now have 5 months to get going on the hunt for a job... wish me luck!

LOST

Well, now that my computer has officially been murdered by liquid, it is now more important than ever for me to blog. Along with over 2500 songs, 5 years worth of photos, and countless homework assignments, I lost the most important thing of all: my writing. I can no longer attempt to get my poems or my short stories published to at least show some credibility as I apply for jobs in the coming months. So, dear whoever decided to spill all over my poor old Mac, thank you for ruining any chance I may have had at getting my writing career started. On the other hand, seriously thank you because I now have a new Macbook Pro. I love this computer so much I'm a heartbeat away from spooning with it in bed at night. Seriously. I never knew rebuilding my Itunes could be so much fun. I have discovered so many new bands that I can't get enough of.

THE SOCIAL NETWORK

I finally got to see the movie "The Social Network," about Mark Zuckerberg and how he created Facebook. I absolutely loved the movie, and they did a great job of finding the right actors to play the parts. Not to mention, Andrew Garfield doesn't hurt the eyes either. I can't imagine having gone through college without having Facebook. I feel like it's my way of connecting with so many people, as well as keeping me connected to friends who may have moved away or graduated before me. Social networking has become such a norm in this era that you may just miss the next big thing by blinking. In fact, I don't think I can even think of a single friend of mine that does not have a Facebook. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time to live when computers and cell phones weren't such a big part of life because I think my writing would be better then. Imagine if a movie like "The Notebook," had cell phones. Nothing would have happened the way it did in that movie. How does one write about love in the present with Facebook and texting, without it sounding completely ridiculous?

Now my big question of the week: New York City or Los Angeles? I just can't decide where I want to be and which one is the right choice. Only time can tell.
