In With the Old

I love when I go back through my itunes after a few years and make a playlist of all the songs I used to love so much. It's like rediscovering them, and loving them just as much as I did the first time around. It also takes me back through so many memories that will stay with me forever.

My favorite song forever in high school was Konstantine by Something Corporate, and after listening to it probably over 500 times in my life, I still will never stop loving it. Every time it can take me back to the summer before my sophomore year of high school riding in the car with my best friend Caitlin and her mom. We had just spent our night with two boys whom we swore we were in love with, as if we knew what such a thing was. That song meant everything to us for so long it's hard to not go back to those times. I miss her and how we were all those endless nights together. I still make a wish every time I catch 11:11. Something Corporate was also the first concert I ever went to, where Caitlin and I were the only two people there belting out every last lyric to Konstantine.

I always have favorite bands coming and going, but the one album that will always be number one in my heart is Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutie. That album got me through my days in high school when I tuned out every other kid in the halls and let the music keep me moving. The songs on that album will never be old to me no matter what, and I will never forget the hours I spent doing all of my artwork to it.

This is me telling everyone to go back through your old playlists, old albums you loved, anything you can find, and listen to them. Live your memories through them and enjoy.
